My Debut Novel Has a Cover!
Shifting from a career in tech to publishing a novel (about a woman in tech).
My debut novel, NOTHING SERIOUS, is now available for pre-order from William Morrow (HarperCollins)! Titled after my most common online dating rejection (“I’m not looking for anything serious…”), this novel has been a near decade-long labor of love.
Publishing this book is beyond my wildest dreams — truly. I studied electrical and computer engineering in college, knowing I’d need to pay for school on my own and financially support myself, then continued on a corporate path, determined to prove myself in the mostly male-dominated world of tech. The idea of being an artist, in any form, was out of the question — not even the dream of it crossed my mind.
I felt an urgent need to create something that could only come from me, to tell a certain kind of story. As an engineer, it felt beyond ridiculous to try writing, so I did it in secret at first.
